At Bannockburn School we like to celebrate all aspects of our children's lives, including their birthdays. We understand that parents and carers want to share their child's birthday celebrations with their classmates by giving out gift bags. 

From September 2026, we will no longer be accepting party bags for distribution through the school office or classrooms.

This decision has been made for several reasons, including updated allergy guidance, to reduce the additional time required for staff to check and distribute items and being mindful of the financial pressures on families. We hope this change will remove any expectation or cost associated with providing party bags.

We know that many families enjoy marking their child's birthday with their classmates, and we would still like to encourage this in ways that support learning and benefit the whole class. If you would like to recognise your child's birthday a donation of a book for the class library or a similar educational resource would be a wonderful alternative and a lasting contribution that all children can enjoy.
