Ofsted Report
Bannockburn Primary School is proud to share the outcome of our most recent Ofsted inspection, in which the school was judged Outstanding in every category. This report reflects the strength, ambition, and care that define our community, and it recognises the exceptional work of our pupils, staff, and families.
Inspectors highlighted the school’s calm, purposeful atmosphere and the warm relationships that underpin daily life at Bannockburn. They praised pupils for their exemplary behaviour, their enthusiasm for learning, and the pride they take in their school. The curriculum was described as broad, ambitious, and carefully sequenced, enabling children to build knowledge securely and confidently over time.
The Early Years provision was recognised as a particular strength, offering children an exciting, language‑rich environment that nurtures curiosity and independence from the very start of their school journey. Leadership at all levels was commended for placing pupils at the heart of decision‑making and ensuring that every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive.
Our Ofsted report celebrates what makes Bannockburn special - a community built on high expectations, kindness, and a shared commitment to giving every child the best possible start in life. We invite you to read the full report below.
Bannockburn Primary School was last inspected by Ofsted in June 2025. The report judged us to be an "Outstanding School in all areas".
Pupil Progress and Attainment
At Bannockburn, we believe pupils should make good progress in learning every lesson, every day, every week, every term and every year. We know that when pupils make steady and even progress they are more likely to continue making good progress at secondary school and beyond.
Additionally, we also believe that the process of collecting data is not an outcome of a process but the beginning of many processes. It is what is done with the data that really matters.
Pupil achievement is judged in two ways:
- Attainment – this referred to whether a pupil is working 'at the expected level' or 'working at greater depth'.
- Progress – this refers to how well pupils have progressed in their learning from their starting point
