This term our main text is Abe and Alba, which is about two characters that go missing from a book and our task is to create stories to get them safely back. We will be thinking about the adventures they might go on and will be using our imaginations to create stories to help find them. We will be focusing on using capital letters, full stops and adjectives in sentences. We will also be focusing on what makes a good letter and will write a letter to Abe and Alba.

In Maths we will be exploring numbers by counting, ordering and forming them correctly. We will be finding one more and one less than a given number and use the language of greater than and less than when comparing numbers. We will be using a number line by counting forwards and backwards to find the answers to addition and subtraction number problems.

In Science, children will explore Everyday Materials to learn how to sort and group them. They will identify the materials used to make common objects and discover their unique physical properties. Through hands-on investigation, children will understand why specific materials are chosen for certain objects.

This term in History, we will be discussing our families and thinking about how families are different. We will be talking about members of our own family by looking at photographs and creating our own family tree.

This term in RE we will be thinking about the different groups that we belong to within the community. We will then be discussing the different religious groups within our school. We will design our “coat of arms” to represent the groups we belong to.

In Pe we are focusing on gross motor and locomotor skills! Students will play team games that challenge their running, speed, and ability to change direction while working together. We will also put these skills to the test using balls, where they will practice passing and throwing with a partner while learning how to move with the ball in different directions.
