In English we will explore non fiction texts including recipes and instructions to learn about the process of preparing food.
We will write a fictional story based on our class novel ‘The Tale of Despereaux’. We will use role play to better understand how a character thinks and feels and write a recipe.

In Maths we will consolidate all times tables learnt this year (3, 4, 6, 8 and 12) and division facts. Recap written methods and compare and order fractions and find fractions of amounts. We will read the time on analogue and digital clocks(including 24hr) using phrases: ‘half past’, ‘quarter past’ and ‘quarter to’ and revisit data handling and presenting data in different graphs and tables.

In Science we will learn the names of different bones in the human skeleton and label these on a diagram and sort animal skeletons into categories and discuss different types of skeletons. We will explain how bones and muscles work to create movement and organise foods into food groups and consider the nutrients that different foods provide.

In Music this term we will be focusing on changing the volume and length of vocal sounds. We will also ‘draw’ sounds and practise using pitched instruments.

In PE we will learn about Volleyball exploring ways to pass and throw and practise a range of Athletics skills and team games in
preparation for Sports Day.

This term in Spanish, we will learn new vocabulary related to body parts and listen to conversations related to a doctors visit. We will practise asking and responding to questions. We also have an exciting Spanish themed day of learning planned!
