Year 4
This term in English we will be writing explanation texts about real life and imaginary machines. We will be practising using a range of conjunctions, rhetorical questions and technical vocabulary. We will then be writing quest stories, where the main character embarks on a journey where they must overcome a challenge.
In Maths we will be revisiting learning on time, including hours, minutes and seconds; years, months, weeks and days; converting between analogue and digital times; reading and converting times using both the 12 hour and 24 hour clock.
Our Science topic is ‘Animals, including humans’. We will be learning about the different types of teeth animals
have and their purposes. We will also learn about the human digestive system with some messy experiments!
In PD we will be learning about the physical and mental changes that take place during puberty as well as how we can prepare ourselves for Year 5.
In History we will be using primary and secondary sources to investigate how inventions have changed life over time.
In PE we will be using the skills practised last term to play mini games in our House Teams.
In RE our focus will be on acts of worship and value in life, including Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity.
