Our first topic this year is ‘Heroes and Villains’. We will be focusing on the Anglo-Saxons, learning about who they were, where they came from, what Britain was like during the period and how they interacted with the Vikings. In class, we will be reading Beowulf by Michael Morpurgo and using it as the stimulus for our own stories about warriors and monsters. We are hopefully planning a trip to the British Museum where children will be able to see many of the artefacts from the famous Sutton Hoo ship burial.

In Maths, we will be focusing on number and place value this term.

In Science, children will be learning about forces, particularly gravity, friction and resistance.

In RE, we will be learning about Judaism, focusing on learning about the synagogue.

Our PE topics are dance and outdoor adventurous activities. These are both great activities for helping children get to
know their new classes.
